Shipping and Delivery

Where does The Design Emporium deliver?
The Design Emporium can deliver to street addresses in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). As most of our products are shipped via courier, we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes or BFPO. The Design Emporium does not yet ship internationally.

What are The Design Emporium’s Shipping & Handling Rates?
As each item is shipped directly from the manufacturer, delivery charges are applied to each item rather than per order. The price of each delivery will be specified under the item purchased. For large orders, shipping may have a capped limit and is under the discretion of The Design Emporium.

If I order more than one item, will they arrive together?
Unfortunately we are unable to combine the delivery of several items, since each item is shipped directly from the supplier.  It is your responsibility to ensure that all delivery addresses provided to us and/or the Merchant are correct. If goods are delivered to an incorrect address as a result of incorrect information provided by you, neither we nor the Merchant will be responsible for this and you will be charged for the cost of redelivery to the correct address. If multiple items are ordered from the same Merchant, and the Merchant is not able to procure delivery of the whole of an order at one time, it may procure the delivery of such order in instalments. The Merchant will not charge you extra delivery costs for this. If you ask the Merchant to deliver an order in instalments, the Merchant may charge you extra delivery costs. Each instalment shall constitute a separate contract with the Merchant. If the Merchant is late delivering an instalment or one instalment is faulty, that will not entitle you to cancel any other instalment. If you make more than one order for goods, you will receive separate invoices in respect of each order from each Merchant and each order will be delivered separately.

I missed the delivery.  What does this mean?
If you fail to take delivery of an order within 5 calendar days of the date set out in the Dispatch Confirmation then, except where this failure is caused by the Merchant’s failure to comply with the Terms and Conditions of your order, or by an event beyond your control, the Merchant will store the goods until delivery takes place and may charge you a reasonable sum (currently £25 per day) to cover expenses and insurance; and neither we nor the Merchant shall have liability to you for late delivery.

I am going away on holiday and cannot take delivery of the goods immeadiately.  Can I arrange a different delivery date?
Please advise the Merchant of this when they contact you to arrange delivery and they will endeavour to accommodate you where possible.  However, if you have not taken delivery of the goods within 1 week of the date set out in the Dispatch Confirmation, the Merchant may, after giving you reasonable prior written notice in writing, resell or otherwise dispose of part or all of the goods and after deducting reasonable storage and selling costs, pay you any excess over the price of the Goods or charge you for any shortfall below their price.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Your order(s) will be fulfilled by the delivery date set out in the Dispatch Confirmation or, if no delivery date is specified, then within 30 days of the date of the Dispatch Confirmation. The Merchant will take reasonable steps to meet the delivery date set out in the Dispatch Confirmation. However, occasionally delivery may be affected by factors beyond the Merchant’s control and so cannot be guaranteed. The Merchant will let you know if it becomes aware of an unexpected delay and will arrange a new delivery date with you.

Does furniture or larger items take longer to arrive?
Furniture orders often take longer to arrive due to the logistics of shipping larger pieces. We and our partners always endeavour to deliver as quickly as possible. In addition, most large items are delivered by a white glove service which includes delivery and installation.  Extra fees may apply for a white glove delivery service and this is not optional as the white glove service ensures the product is delivered correctly. You will be advised of this on the product page, please ensure you are happy with this before completing your purchase.

I have received a confirmation email but haven’t been contacted to schedule a white glove delivery. What happens now?
Please be patient, you will be contacted in good time prior to delivery.  If you are concerned, please contact us at contact@thedesignemporium.co.uk

What is The Design Emporium’s insurance policy?
The Design Emporium’s items are secured directly by the Merchant and their nominated carrier.  All products will be delivered to the address that you indicate when you complete the “order” page of the website and risk of damage to or loss of the products shall pass to you at the time of delivery even if the products have not been received by you in person.  The goods will be your responsibility from the time of delivery. Delivery shall be deemed to have taken place on the unloading of the goods at the delivery location specified by you in your order.  Any times quoted for delivery are approximate only and TLW Designs Ltd shall not be liable for any delay in delivery of the products howsoever caused.
